As a business group of DSM we are fully aware of our responsibility to the community. Not only do we want our operations to be profitable but also socially acceptable. As part of this social commitment, we endorse the obligations formulated in the chemical industry's international Responsible Care program.

Responsible Care is a worldwide action program, set up by the chemical industry, to ensure ongoing improvement of chemical company's performance in the field of safety, health and environment (SHE) and to actively promote communication on the SHE matters with all stakeholders: business partners, shareholders, employees and the community in which we operate.

Our activities are aimed at creating value: value for our customers and shareholders, as well as for employees and the community in which we operate. Because of this we are guided by our DSM Values, as values underlying our 'code of conduct'.

• to our employees internally, between all our entities, to get a best practices approach implemented and communicated,
• to support our customers in their business position,
• to the legislation and regulatory compliance.

Much of our product developments and process improvements are dedicated making the total chain safer, healthier and more environmentally friendly; starting with reduced-styrene-emission resin systems and closed molds techniques, but also in making the resin with less energy, with higher yields and by safe transport of our products. We are actively involved in product stewardship studies and supporting end-of life recycling solutions for composite parts.

SHE is much more than just applying rules and procedures; it means having a SHE-way of living and working.
